Personal Growth

Lifelong learning means lifelong growth. Many of our students take courses to enrich their lives or explore areas of personal interest. If you don’t want to be bothered with the pressures of grades and exams, you can take courses numbered 1-499 on a Not-for-Credit (NfC) basis -- you complete all course assignments but don't take the final exam or work on a final project, and you don't receive a course grade or earn any units.

Course numbers in our catalog indicate the following levels of instruction:

X or XB1-99

Lower-division courses at the level of the freshman and sophomore years of college

X or XB100-199

Upper-division courses at the level of the junior and senior years of college

X300-399

Professional courses in education for teachers and school administrators

X400-499

Professional, postgraduate courses in a variety of fields

800-899

Non-credit courses

Continuing Education Unit (ceu)

The ceu is a nationally recognized measurement of non-credit study. Many employers and relicensure agencies accept ceu coursework as evidence of a serious commitment to career advancement.
